The Ginkgo Prize for Eco Poetry is an international writing competition that is open to poetry of any length and form that engages with the climate crisis and ignites global conscience.
Poems should, thematically, structurally, linguistically or formally, explore ecology, the environment or the relationship between culture and the natural world.
The judges are UK Poet Laureate Simon Armitage and Jade Cuttle.
First prize is £5,000, second £2,000 and third prize £1,000.
This year, the organisers have partnered with Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to run an additional prize for the best ‘Landscape Poem’. This is free to enter, if you’ve submitted to the Ginkgo prize. The winner will be awarded £500.
