Ready to write a story?
Stepping onto the jetty, you look across the lake. At first, the place seems still, no birds in the sky, no leaves rustling. But then you spot the boathouse across the motionless water.
You squint. There’s someone in there, climbing aboard a boat. Who is it? What are they doing? What’s that they’re holding under their arm? Where are they going with it?
Grab your notebook and capture the story before it washes away.
Try writing 100 words or setting a timer for five to fifteen minutes and see where your story leads. We’ve got some great tips for using word prompts here. Happy writing!
